Privacy Policy

1. Information you provide

• Account information. When you sign in with a provider such as Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and (if available) profile picture. You then choose a username and optional display name.
• Onboarding details (optional). You may tell us the age ranges of the children you parent, your parenting role, and the topics on your mind. These are optional and used to help point you to relevant communities and people.
• Content you post. Topics, replies, and reactions you create on the Service.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most online services, we collect basic technical information needed to operate securely, such as log and device data. We use only the cookies strictly necessary for sign-in and security; we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. How we use your information

• To provide and maintain the Service and your account;
• To power our matching and concierge features, which suggest relevant communities and existing posts;
• To keep the community safe and enforce our policies;
• To communicate with you about the Service.

4. Automated processing and AI

To help members find relevant discussions, we generate mathematical representations (“embeddings”) of post text using a third-party AI provider, and use them for similarity matching. This is retrieval and matching only — we do not use it to generate automated replies or advice in your name. Embedding providers process post text to return these representations and do not use your content to train their models under our configuration.

5. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that protect your data:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of your account and posts.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
• OpenAI / OpenRouter — generating text embeddings of posts to power similarity matching.
• Google & Apple — sign-in (only when you choose that provider).

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. The parenting details you may share are collected from you, the adult — not from children. Please do not post information that identifies a child. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal or security reasons.

8. Your choices and rights

• You can edit your profile and onboarding details at any time;
• You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@starborn.site;
• Optional information can be left blank or removed.

9. Security

We use reputable infrastructure providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to address issues promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
